Head Coach Calgary Renegade and Torpedo Water Polo Clubs

Personal 

  • Born in Calgary in 1954 an original Calgary Water Polo player- started playing at the Calgary Central YMCA in 1971 under Ivan Somlai.
  • Married to Heather with three daughters Julie Kira and Emily
  • A Junior High School teacher from 1979-1999 - coached City and Division Champions in Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Wrestling , Badminton and Track and Field.
  • NCCP Level 4 Coach Certified
  • Currently still an active player with the Calgary Masters and a 40+ National Champion. Competed in 4 Masters World Championships (Montreal 1994, San Francisco 2006, Perth 2008 , Sweden 2010 )

Club 

  • Founder of both the Calgary Renegades 1985 and Calgary Torpedo's 1981
  • As a Torpedo- Renegade - coached 20+ National Medal teams and led Calgary  to 13  National Championships:  Senior Men x 3, Senior Women x 2  U18 Boys x 4 , U16 Girls x 2 and U18 Girls x 2 . 
  • Most recent Renegade Torpedo Head Coaching National Championships:
  • U18 Girls National Champions 2011
  • U 16 Girls National Champions 2009
  • U18 Boys National Champion 2007

Junior National Team Coaching :

  • During the 1990's Coached 5 Junior National Teams in both roles Head Coach and Assistant Coach

  • Canada's first Top 8 World Championship finish Dunkirk France 1995
  • Canada's First Pan Am Junior Medal Bronze in Cuba 1996
  • Canada's Second Top 8 Finish Kuwait  19991997-2004

  • 1 Commonwealth Championship

  • Put Canada back on the Pan Am Games podium after a 16 absence Bronze Winnipeg 1999, Repeat Bronze Dominican Republic 2003
